Graduate jobs and opportunities in Manchester

The Careers Service is now launching the 2009/10 Manchester Graduate Internship Programme, so if you’re finishing in a few weeks time, read on.

MGIP, as it is referred to by the team, was set up last year with the aim of establishing 4 – 12 month paid opportunities for University of Manchester graduates in a range of businesses and organisations across Greater Manchester. We exceeded our pilot phase target and offered over 40 internships. The roles were varied (including marketing, administration, fundraising, event organising, sales, business development), as were the host organisations (charities, design agencies, engineering firms, public sector and also the University). All positions were at graduate level and paid an average salary of £15,000 pro rata.

In addition to securing a full time, paid position through MGIP, all appointed interns have access to monthly skills development sessions to help improve their employability and also give them the chance to catch up with fellow graduates.

The MGIP team is busy setting up internship opportunities for our 2009 graduates. If you’re thinking of staying in Manchester when you finish your degree and don’t want to get stuck in your part-time bar job etc, register now with MGIP and we’ll send you details of internships as they come through to us.
