Pearson, a big educational publisher, is seeking current 1st and 2nd year students to join its Student Advisory Board starting in September 2010. (Application deadline next Friday – 22nd January!)
Successful candidates will gain plenty of exposure to an academic publishing house and will have the opportunity to get involved in publishing strategy, marketing practice and product development projects. You will work on projects across campus (approx 2 hrs/wk) and attend two, all expenses paid, residential weekend workshops at the head office in London during the year.
You’ll also have support from a mentor, receive £500 plus free Pearson textbooks and travel expenses for the year and gain valuable CV building and real world experience before graduation.
Pearson are particularly interested in current 1st year students from all degree disciplines, but applications from 2nd and any other pre-final year students will be considered as long as you can commit to the scheme during your final year of study.
How to apply:
Send your CV and covering letter, outlining details of your course and academic attainment (modules completed with grades if available), with details of two referees (one must be a university academic who knows you) and a 100-word summary outlining your interest and suitability in becoming a Board Member via email to helen.pownall AT manchester.ac.uk.
