Internships and Placements for 2011

Well it’s almost the start of another academic year and I’m sure that internships and placements for 2011 aren’t the first thing on your mind – but you might want to think about them soon!  Yes I know it sounds a bit odd and that I’m trying to wish away the academic year but that’s not the case! Well, that’s not my intention…

What I do want to do with this post is highlight the fact that lots of organisations will be starting their recruitment for graduate positions and for placements or internships 2011 in the next few weeks, if they haven’t already.  Depending on the sector, you’ll even find that their application deadlines are before Christmas vacation starts. So you’ll need to apply this semester so you don’t miss out.

I visited Deloitte a couple of  weeks ago at their offices in Central London and they mentioned that applications for their year placements and summer internship schemes are open now.  Students who have worked as interns at Deloitte recommend applying as soon as you can, so that you apply when they have the widest choice of work areas and placement locations available. If you want to find out more about them and see what it involved, have a look at their careers webpages (the details are in the ‘graduates’ section).

Obviously Deloitte’s not the only organisation taking on students for next summer or academic year placements so keep an eye on our website to find out what vacancies are being advertised.  We get loads of vacancies in all year round so check  regularly or register to get job details sent to your inbox.  I’m sure I’ll be writing more here soon about any more opportunities I hear about, so keep checking the blog posts.

Enjoy the start of the new academic year!
