Penguin is having an Open Day on Thursday 25th November 2010 in London for students and graduates interested in pursuing a career in publishing. It’s a great opportunity to find out more about different areas of publishing (editorial, marketing and publicity, contracts, production, sales, design, finance and HR) and may help you decide whether a career in publishing might suit you, and if so, what area. The day is particularly targeted at ethnic minority students, but it’s open to all students. It consists of presentations from some key people in the business, so it’s also a great networking opportunity as well as something to go on your CV in its own right.
How to apply
You need to send a 100-word summary of your CV and a 100-word statement on why you want to attend the open day to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your name, university and year of study. They will email you if your application has been successful.
Deadline is 29th October, so be quick!
