New Year’s Resolutions

Most of us will have started the year with good intentions and made a New Year’s resolution or two.

Eat more healthily….  Drink less….

Get more exercise…. etc etc

How’s it going?

A huge well done if you’re still sticking by them.

However, if  (like me) you didn’t even make it through the first week – ‘forgot’ to go out for a run every day, gave into a cheeky glass of wine and couldn’t resist polishing off the last of the Christmas chocolates, then maybe it’s time to think about a resolution that’s actually worth achieving?

Ok, so 2011 has begun but, if you haven’t already done so, what’s stopping you making a new resolution to boost your future employability?

Why not take on one additional activity outside of your course?

Doing one extra little thing now will make a huge difference to your CV when you graduate. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to be a gigantic investment of time – an afternoon a week or a few hours here and there is a great start.

Have a look at our Make yourself more employable web pages. There are a number of different activities you can get involved with – volunteering, work experience, mentoring, accredited modules.  Don’t overlook our pages on transferable skills – you can find out what employers look for and get ideas on how you can achieve this.

You never know, you might even enjoy yourself!

Happy 2011!
